MOPPETS is a ministry created specifically for your children while you are enjoying your own MOPS meeting.  While mothers are enjoying a hot brunch, guest speakers, new friendships and the occasional craft, our children are being cared for in a loving environment on the church campus by our wonderful MOPPETS teachers.

The ministry of MOPPETS is not just two hours of babysitting.  Our children are divided into age-appropriate groups and they enjoy games, outdoor recreation, crafts, stories while they make their own friendships.  Our children grow under the leadership of women who are called to love and care for our kids while we are in our session.  We also have a dedicated MOPPETS leader that will notify us if our children need us for any reason.

All our MOPPETS teachers have been fingerprinted for the safety of our children.

Guidelines for the MOPPETS Programs:

Our desire is for all moms in the program to enjoy a morning away from the kids with peace and quiet as we learn and fellowship. We invite moms with newborns to bring their baby with them to the meeting as long as they are not disruptive. However, children 7 months and older should be enrolled in the MOPPETS program and will be cared for in the nursery.

Children may be dropped off in their classes starting at 8:45 am. Please pick up your children no later than 11:35 am. Not only will the teachers appreciate your promptness, but your children will too as they get anxious when mommies come walking through the door.

Occasionally a child is unwilling to be left in the program by his or her mother. Help your child find an activity and then leave. The teachers are trained to handle any child who needs extra attention or assurance. You will be contacted if there is any continued crying (maximum of 10 minutes) or if a problem develops. It is best for the mother to leave promptly and assure the child that she will come back when class is over.

Please label ALL of your child's belongings (bags, wipes, bottles, sippy cups, etc.)

Please do not bring your child to MOPPETS if they are showing any signs of illness, or have had any of the symptoms listed below in the last 24 hours. Please understand that you will be asked not to put your child in class for that day if your child is showing any of the following signs or symptoms, and you will be asked to pick up your child if your child shows any of these signs during the morning. (This is for the protection of all the children and workers.)  Fever or chills, green or yellow runny nose, unexplained rash, vomiting or diarrhea, persistent, productive cough, on an antibiotic for less than 24 hours, lice, communicable diseases (measles, roseola, chicken pox, etc.), decreases playfulness, fatigue, listlessness - regardless of other symptoms, this can be the most important factor in determining how ill a child is.

We will ask you to sign your child in each time you bring them to MOPPETS.  You will be given a security card with your child's name. You must present this card when you come to pick your child up at the end of class. If you lose your security card, you will be asked to show identification. When you come back to pick up your child, please wait at the door of the room and allow the teacher to bring your child to you. This helps to provide security and avoid confusion.

Each child will be given a name tag and it will be marked with special instructions if the child has any allergies. (Please notify a teacher if a special instruction is not listed and should be.)

For infants, we have a pager system that allows us to reach you if necessary. Please keep it with you all morning and return it when you pick up your child at the end of the morning. Please mark any special instructions for your child each morning. This includes suggested times for naps and bottles, special bottle instructions, etc. Please let the workers know to page you if you are nursing.

As for our toddlers and older children, at Mount of Olives, we have a peanut free campus and therefore ask that you do not include any snacks that contain peanuts.

Each of the classrooms is staffed with a lead teacher and one or two additional teachers. Their typical morning includes the following: stories and activities, songs, playground time, music time, snack, coloring and crafts. Occasionally we may also show children's videos in these classrooms. The nursery is staffed with 4-5 workers.
