MISSION VIEJO — Mothers with young children in the Saddleback Valley: are you looking to get out and get social?

Mothers of Preschoolers is starting up its fall semester on Friday, Sept. 12. Linda Miller will speak on the topic, "Why every mother needs a mother as a friend."

"It's a place for support and making friends and meeting moms who are in the same place of life that you are and who can relate to the struggles and ups and downs of motherhood," said MOPS coordinator Michelle Bryant.

The group meets at Mount of Olives Church, 24772 Chrisanta Drive, every other Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Each meeting involves a speaker, hot breakfast, and an activity. The first meeting is free. The cost for the fall semester is $85. For mothers who opt to bring their children the cost is $115. There are preschool-like classes for children who are 2 to 5-years-old and a nursery for children under 2. Scholarships are available for mothers who cannot afford to join.
